On August 7, 1969, at the request of Sgt. Whiteley, Homicide Bureau, an investigation was made of a house at 964 Old Topanga Canyon Road, Malibu.
Handwriting was observed on the north wall of the livingroom directly above the area where the victim was found, which read "Polltical Piggy". The writing material was determined to be blood. No samples were obtained.
Blood was found on the corner of a coffee table in the livingroom, on the hall floor between the livingroom, bath and kitchen, and on the walls, floor, and ceiling of the kitchen. No samples were obtained.
A home made scale was observed in a kitchen cupboard containing a white powder on one pan. The pan and powder was taken from examination.
On the same date, Sgt. Whiteley submitted a pair of brown leather boots, a blue knit sports shirt, a pair of blue jeans trousers, a hunting knife, and scabboard for examination.
Traces of blood were found on the right leg of the blue jean trousers, on the bottom front and right sleeve of the sport shirt. The amount was insufficient for any further tests.
No blood was found on the hunting knife, scabboard, or boots.
The white material in the balance pan was negative for narcotics.
