Sandra Good, Manson Cultist, to be Transferred to Alderson

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 9 — Sandra Good, a Charles Manson cultist and inmate of the federal jail in San Diego since Sept. 8, will be transferred to the federal prison for women at Alderson, W. Va.

Miss Good, 33, was moved to San Diego on a temporary basis when the Terminal Island prison where she had been held was transformed into an all-male facility.

She was sentenced to 15 years in prison after she and Susan Murphy, 34, were convicted last year on charges of conspiring to send death threats to business and government leaders.

Lt. Mike Borrego, correctional supervisor at the San Diego facility, the Metropolitan Correctional Center, said the U.S. marshall’s office is in charge of transfers. Prison officials are not
told when inmates will be moved “until the last minute” for security reasons, he said.

Carson Markley, warden of the Alderson prison, said the transfer was arranged Friday but he did not know when it would be made.

At Alderson prison, Miss Good will join Murphy and Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme, 29, a Manson cultist serving a life sentence for the attempted assassination for former President Gerald Ford.
