Manson Family Members Married
Friday, January 30th, 1976
FOLSOM, Jan. 30 — Manson followers Catherine “Gypsy” Share and Kenneth D. Como, who is serving a 20-year to life term, were married Thursday at Folsom State Prison in a “very simple ceremony” with heavy security.
Deputy County Clerk Bob Uyeyama said the couple was married in a visiting room at the maximum security prison by a minister from the Universal Life Church.
He said the couple kissed for 45 minutes after the ceremony, but will have to wait about three months to use the prison’s honeymoon trailer because there is a long waiting list.
“It was a very simple ceremony,” he said.
Miss Share, 33, a typist in Los Angeles, was one of the first female followers of imprisoned mass murderer Charles Manson. She testified as a defense witness at the Tate-LaBianca murder trial in Los Angeles.
Like would-be presidential assassin Lynette Fromme and cultist Sandra Good, Miss Share carved an “x” in her forehead during the trial.
Como, 36, regarded as a heavy security risk, once was accused of taking part in the grisly killings for which Manson was convicted.
In 1971, Como made a dramatic escape from a 13th floor maximum security cell of the Los Angeles County Jail. He was captured a few hours later. He is serving the sentence in Folsom on six felony convictions.
