PORTLAND, OR., Jul. 10 – Portland police arrested two men and a woman in the armed robbery of a Kienow’s supermarket about 10 minutes after the robbery occurred.

Arrested at their residence, 1223 SE Yamhill St., on charges of first-degree robbery were Stephen George Bekins, 33; Jay Jerold Varney, 33, and Sandra C. Good, 28.

They are charged in the holdup of the Kienow’s store at 5544 E. Burnside St. and held on bail of $10,005 each.

The store manager told police that one man entered the store about 9:30 a.m. Saturday, pulled out a .38-caliber revolver and fled with the store’s receipts. The manager followed the man several blocks to where another man was waiting in a blue van. Police followed the van to the Yamhill Street address.
