Manson Follower is Denied Parole
Sunday, September 19th, 1982
SOLEDAD, Calif., Sept. 19 — A follower of convicted mass murderer Charles Manson was denied parole after showing signs of hostility toward society in a psychiatric evaluation, prison officials say. Bobby Beausoleil, 34, is serving a life sentence at the state prison in Soledad for the murder of musician Gary Hinman, who was tortured for three days and then stabbed to death in July 1969. A three-member panel of the state Board of Prison Terms rejected Beausoleil’s parole request Thursday on the basis of a “negative 90-day psychiatric evaluation.”
