SAN LUIS OBISPO, Oct. 6 — Charles (Tex) Watson, described as mass killer Charles Manson’s chief lieutenant in murder, has been transferred from San Quentin Prison’s Death Row to the California Men’s Colony at San Luis Obispo, prison officials announced. They said he and six other San Quentin prisoners were moved last month to a maximum security wing at the colony, normally a minimum security prison.
