Suit Filed in Frykowsky Son’s Behalf

LOS ANGELES, Jul. 30 – Another multi-million dollar wrongful death suit was filed yesterday against Charles Manson and four of his followers over the mass murders at the home of actress Sharon Tate nearly a year ago.

The latest suit was brought on behalf of the 11-year-old son of Voityck Frykowsky, one of the five victims at the secluded home in Benedict Canyon.

The petition seeking $2,000,000 was filed in Federal Court. Previous suits against Manson and other cultists are pending in Superior Court.

Atty. Nathaniel Friedman said the suit was brought in Federal Court, because the boy, Bartyk Frykowsky, is not an American citizen. He lives in Poland and according to the petition, he is Frykowsky’s sole legal heir.

The suit charges that because of the death, the boy has been deprived of support, love, guidance and inheritance. It asks $1,000,000 general damages and $1,000,000 punitive damages.

Named defendants, in addition to Manson, were Charles “Tex” Watson, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel and Linda Kasabian.

Manson, Miss Atkins and Miss Krenwinkel are currently on trial in Superior Court on murder-conspiracy charges involving the slayings last Aug. 9 and the murders the following day of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca.

Miss Kasabian, also indicted in the murders, has turned state’s witness in return for immunity from prosecution. Watson is still in Texas fighting tradition.

Frykowsky 37, a Polish citizen, was a friend of Roman Polanski, Miss Tate’s husband, and he also was regarded as the boyfriend of coffee heiress Abigail Folger, another victim in the mass slayings.

Mrs. Hanna Prominska, 8787 Shorehan Drive, Los Angeles, was named as the boy’s “guardian in law” for purposes of the suit. According to Atty. Friedman, she is a Polish-born American citizen and a friend of Frykowsky’s family.
