Manson Ex-Followers Married Inside Folsom

FOLSOM, CA, Jan. 30 – The bells were ringing at Folsom Prison but they weren’t touched off by an escape attempt.

They were wedding bells.

Catherine Share and Kenneth D. Como, both former apostles of Charles Manson, were one of four couples wed yesterday by a minister from the mail-order Universal Life Church.

The bride, 33, was a defense witness for the Manson family in the Tate-LaBianca murder trial in Los Angeles and is now a typist for a Los Angeles radio station.

The groom, 36, who listed his occupation as “selfemployed welder” on the marriage certificate, is serving a 20-years-to-life sentence at Folsom for a variety of felony convictions including escape from the Los Angeles County jail.

Bob Uyeyama, a principal deputy county clerk, said the bride was dressed in “street clothes,” the groom in blue denims. They were together about 45 minutes. Uyeyama described the ceremony before two of the newlyweds’ friends as “very informal.” Como had a falling out with Manson while both were in Folsom. The only two times Manson ever ventured into the exercise yard Como attacked him. Manson now is at San Quentin.

The newlyweds will honeymoon in a prison house trailer in about three months.
